Project Nova: How to play OG Fortnite in 2024

Fortnite: OG really had it all, but once again we had to say goodbye to our beloved Chapter 1 map, and the loss hurts. Oh, the original Chapter 1 map, the no-sweat battle royale, the first weapons... what a time that was! However, if you long for those glory days, there is still a chance to experience them! Because Project Nova takes you back to the beginnings of Fortnite.

What exactly is Project Nova?

Fortnite Project Nova is a third-party mod that allows players to play Fortnite OG in 2024.

Experience the nostalgia to the fullest when you jump out of the Battle Bus onto Chapter 1 Island, where you'll find old places like Greasy Grove and Retail Row. You have the opportunity to find OG weapons and you can even equip each skin! Yes, even classics like the Renegade Raider!

The default settings appear to be set to Season X of Chapter 1, but there are many options available from Chapter 1. Since the project is a private multiplayer server with old assets, you can have fun as you like!

Project Nova: Here's how

Luckily, the developer of Project Nova has created an easy-to-follow tutorial video explaining how to download and play OG Fortnite with Project Nova. There are a few steps you'll need to go through, but unless you're completely inexperienced with technology, you should hopefully be able to do it. Here is a guide to install and launch OG Fortnite:

1. Join the Nova Discord server
2. Create a Nova account by entering #bot-commands /create in the server tab and adding your email, a username and a password
3. Install the NovaLauncher and OG-Fortnite by downloading the file VC_redist.x64 and the NovaLauncher on the server in the #download tab
4. Create a folder and drag NovaLauncher into it
5. Extract the NovaLauncher
6. Open the NovaLauncher.exe file
7. Click Settings and then Easy Installer
8. A window opens. Type 75 and click Enter
9. Create a new folder on your desktop and open it
10. Copy the folder link into EasyInstaller and click Enter
11. Wait for the installation to complete
12. Now select the folder where Fortnite is installed and click OK
13. Every time you open the launcher, you need a new Exchange Code. To do this, go back to the Discord server in the #bot-commands tab and write /exchange-code
14. Copy the code into NovaLauncher and click Launch

For further help, the Nova Discord offers a support channel as well as a channel where you can create a ticket to receive support.

Once you've successfully set up Project Nova and started OG Fortnite without any problems, all you have to do is join a match. When you're ready to play, check the Nova Discord server uptime channel and wait for a message from Nova Manager letting you know when a server is available. You can react to the message in the reaction-roles channel in the Nova Discord to receive a notification every time a match starts!

When the Nova Manager announces that a server has gone up, press play in OG Fortnite to start the match!
