Nintendo Switch 2: AI reveals probable release date

The Nintendo Switch was released in 2017, so it is no longer completely up to date. Especially compared to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, the Switch urgently needs a technical upgrade. And by technical upgrade we mean even more than just the OLED version. Luckily, Nintendo is already hard at work on the Nintendo Switch 2, and thanks to a well-known leaker, we've already gotten a probable release date and price through some rumors in October 2023.
Now, a company called Ai Shark (formerly GameShark) has mentioned the Nintendo Switch 2 in one of their press releases, and the time period mentioned matches the old leaked release date.
Nintendo Switch 2 Release & Price
According to the first leak in October 2023 , the Nintendo Switch 2 is set to release on September 24, 2024 , with a replacement release date of November 3. Additionally, the leaker claimed that there will be two different versions of the Nintendo Switch 2: a digital version for $400 and a standard edition for $449 .
Ai Shark's new press release mentions a release in "September 2024," which lines up perfectly with the first leak.
Admittedly, this all sounds pretty promising, but can we trust the information? Don't worry, here is a quick summary to answer this question for you. The source of the first leak is a leaker named SoldierDelta, who shared the above Nintendo Switch 2 information on a Discord server called The Snitch.
The Snitch has an impressive track record of credible leaks, which gives at least some credibility to the latest Switch 2 leaks. This credibility is further strengthened by the second Ai Shark leak. The company, formerly known as GameShark, announced in a press release that it would be reintroducing its brand in September 2024, saying:
" The official market launch is planned to coincide with the Nintendo Switch 2 in September 2024."
This sounds very promising, but we can't verify where Ai Shark got this information, and according to Jason Schreier (a well-known industry insider), the release time frame might as well just be a guess.
Since Nintendo has not yet announced any official details about the Nintendo Switch 2, any leak should be viewed with caution. But since this is the second source mentioning a September 2024 release, there must be something to it, right?
Nintendo Switch 2 more expensive than the OLED model?
In terms of pricing, the Switch 2 will apparently be around $100 more expensive than the current OLED model, at least if you opt for the standard edition. The digital edition will still cost you about $50 more. However, this shouldn't surprise you considering that even the PS5 and Xbox Series have already increased their prices once.
Let's just hope the tech upgrades will be worth the money...
